{"id":7571,"date":"2022-11-08T09:22:14","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T03:52:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=7571"},"modified":"2025-03-28T21:32:37","modified_gmt":"2025-03-28T16:02:37","slug":"pradhan-mantri-khanij-kshetra-kalyan-yojana-pmkkky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pradhan-mantri-khanij-kshetra-kalyan-yojana-pmkkky\/","title":{"rendered":"Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Ministry of Mines<\/strong>\u00a0launched PMKKKY in 2015 for the welfare of areas and people affected by mining-related operations, using the funds generated by\u00a0<strong>District Mineral Foundations (DMFs).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Objectives<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>to implement various developmental and welfare projects<\/strong>\u00a0in mining affected areas, complementing the existing ongoing schemes of State and Central Government;<\/li>\n<li><strong>to minimize\/mitigate the adverse impacts<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>during and after mining,<\/strong>\u00a0on the environment, health and socio-economics of people in mining districts; and<\/li>\n<li><strong>to ensure long-term sustainable livelihoods<\/strong>\u00a0for the affected people in mining areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Implementation<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>It will be implemented by DMFs of the respective districts using the funds accruing to the DMF.\u00a0<strong>The Mines and Minerals (Development &amp; Regulation) Amendment Act, 2015<\/strong>, mandated the\u00a0<strong>setting up of DMFs in all districts<\/strong>\u00a0in the country affected by mining related operations.<\/li>\n<li>The Central Government has notified the\u00a0<strong>rates of contribution payable by miners to the DMFs.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>In case of all mining leases executed before 12th January, 2015 miners will have to contribute an amount equal to\u00a0<strong>30% of the royalty payable<\/strong>\u00a0by them to the DMFs.
