{"id":7571,"date":"2026-09-18T12:22:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-18T06:52:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=7571"},"modified":"2026-09-18T14:40:24","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T09:10:24","slug":"pradhan-mantri-khanij-kshetra-kalyan-yojana-pmkkky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pradhan-mantri-khanij-kshetra-kalyan-yojana-pmkkky\/","title":{"rendered":"Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) has been framed in the national interest to provide for the welfare of mining-affected areas with a minimum standard of social and physical infrastructure to people.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>launched in 2015.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to provide for the <\/span><b>welfare of areas and people affected by mining<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> related operations, using the <\/span><b>funds generated by District Mineral Foundations (DMFs).<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Objectives<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To implement <\/span><b>various developmental and welfare projects<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in mining affected areas, complementing the existing ongoing schemes of State and Central Government;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>minimize\/mitigate the adverse impacts,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> during and after mining, on the environment, health and socio-economics of people in mining districts; and<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>ensure long-term sustainable livelihoods<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the affected people in mining areas.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Implementation: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>implemented by the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/dmf\/\" target=\"_blank\">District Mineral Foundations<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DMFs) of the respective districts using the funds accruing to the DMF.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 requires States to incorporate PMKKKY into their DMF rules.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Utilization of Funds<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At least <\/span><b>60% of the funds on High Priority areas like<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: drinking water supply, environment preservation and pollution control measures, health care, education, welfare of women and children.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Up to <\/span><b>40% on Other Priority areas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> like: physical infrastructure, irrigation, energy and watershed development;
