{"id":75879,"date":"2025-12-01T13:02:16","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T07:32:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=75879"},"modified":"2025-12-01T16:26:01","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T10:56:01","slug":"khiamniungan-tribe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/khiamniungan-tribe\/","title":{"rendered":"Khiamniungan Tribe"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Khiamniungan Tribe Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Prime Minister of India mentioned about the Khiamniungan tribe in his \u2018Mann Ki Baat\u2019 episode.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Khiamniungan Tribe<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Khiamniungan tribe is one of the <\/span><b>major tribes among the Nagas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with habitation both in <\/span><b>India and Myanmar.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Geographically, the land of Khiamniungans is located in <\/span><b>the Eastern part of Nagaland<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and in the <\/span><b>North-Western part of Myanmar.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The meaning of the term Khiamniungan is \u2018<\/span><b>source of great water or river\u2019.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Social Structure: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The traditional social structure was based on the <\/span><b>clan system.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Language:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> They <\/span><b>speak Khiamniugan,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> one of the Naga languages which belongs to the Sino- Tibetan language.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Festivals<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They celebrate <\/span><b>Tsokum Sumai<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the month of September or in the first past of October to invoke <\/span><b>blessing for a rich harvest.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They also celebrate<\/span><b> Khaotzao Sey Hok-ah sumai<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which marks the <\/span><b>end of all agricultural activities for the year.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Economy:<\/b> <b>Farming<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is one of the <\/span><b>primary occupations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the people of this region.
