{"id":7595,"date":"2026-08-08T12:00:21","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T06:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=7595"},"modified":"2026-08-08T16:20:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T10:50:04","slug":"national-gopal-ratna-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-gopal-ratna-award\/","title":{"rendered":"National Gopal Ratna Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>National Gopal Ratna Awards Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry has invited nominations for the National Gopal Ratna Award 2026.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Gopal Ratna Award<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NGRA are the country\u2019s highest honours in the <\/span><b>livestock and dairy sector.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was established under the <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/rashtriya-gokul-mission\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rashtriya Gokul Mission<\/a> in 2021.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u201cRashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM)\u201d, was <\/span><b>launched in December 2014<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with a view to conserve and <\/span><b>develop indigenous bovine breeds in a scientific manner.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was constituted by the <\/span><b>Department of Animal Husbandry<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Objective:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It aims to <\/span><b>encourage excellence among milk-producing farmers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, dairy cooperatives, Milk Producer Companies (MPCs), Dairy Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and Artificial Insemination Technicians (AITs).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NGRA will be <\/span><b>conferred in the following categories<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Best Dairy farmer rearing indigenous cattle\/buffalo breeds (list of registered breeds Annexed).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Best Dairy Cooperative Society (DCS)\/ Milk Producer Company (MPC)\/Dairy Farmer Producer Organization (FPO).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Best Artificial Insemination Technician (AIT).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is also a provision of <\/span><b>Special award for the North Eastern Region (NER) and Himalayan States <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">so as to encourage and boost the dairy development activities in these States\/UTs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Cash Prize: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Award consists of a cash prize of <\/span><b>Rs. 5 lakh for 1st rank, Rs. 3 lakh for 2nd rank, Rs. 2 lakh for 3rd rank and Rs. 2 lakh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for <\/span><b>Special Award for North Eastern Region<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, along with a Certificate of merit and a memento in the first two categories i.e Best Dairy Farmer and Best DCS\/FPO\/MPCs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the Best Artificial Insemination Technician (AIT) category, NGA will <\/span><b>consist of a Certificate of merit and a memento.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2296314&amp;reg=48&amp;lang=1#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National Gopal Ratna Award the country\u2019s highest honours in the livestock and dairy sector.
