{"id":76210,"date":"2025-12-03T12:44:34","date_gmt":"2025-12-03T07:14:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=76210"},"modified":"2025-12-03T13:14:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T07:44:13","slug":"chaolung-sukapha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/chaolung-sukapha\/","title":{"rendered":"Chaolung Sukapha"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Chaolung Sukapha Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the union Minister of Ports, Shipping &amp; Waterways led a vibrant celebration of Assam Day and paid rich tributes to Chaolung Sukapha.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Chaolung Sukapha<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was a visionary <\/span><b>13th-century ruler<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who <\/span><b>founded the<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/ahom-dynasty\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Ahom kingdom<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that ruled Assam for six centuries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0He is widely referred to as the architect of \u201cBor Asom\u201d or \u201cgreater Assam\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was in <\/span><b>Charaideo <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that Sukapha established his <\/span><b>first small principality,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sowing the seeds of further expansion of the Ahom kingdom.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Administration of Chaolung Sukapha<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He divided the kingdom into <\/span><b>territorial units called khels or phoids,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> each under an officer responsible for supplying a <\/span><b>fixed number of paiks.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paiks are the <\/span><b>able-bodied male population<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who owed labour and military service to the state.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Every adult male between sixteen and fifty was registered as a paik and served the king for part of the year in agriculture, construction, or war.
