{"id":76667,"date":"2025-12-06T13:36:49","date_gmt":"2025-12-06T08:06:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=76667"},"modified":"2025-12-06T15:15:12","modified_gmt":"2025-12-06T09:45:12","slug":"interpol-red-notice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/interpol-red-notice\/","title":{"rendered":"INTERPOL Red Notice"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>INTERPOL Red Notice Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Madhya Pradesh State Tiger Strike Force in a coordinated operation with the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau has successfully apprehended an international wildlife offender wanted under an INTERPOL Red Notice (RN).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About INTERPOL Red Notice<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Red Notice is a <\/span><b>request to law enforcement worldwide<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>based on an arrest warrant<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or court order issued by the judicial authorities in the requesting country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Member countries apply their own laws in deciding whether to arrest a person.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Purpose:<\/b> <b>International alert<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for a wanted person, but it is <\/span><b>not an arrest warrant.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>contains two main types of information:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Information to <\/span><b>identify the wanted person<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, such as their name, date of birth, nationality, hair and eye colour, photographs and fingerprints if available.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Information related to the <\/span><b>crime they are wanted for,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which can typically be murder, rape, child abuse or armed robbery.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Issuance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Red Notices are published by <\/span><b>INTERPOL at the request of a member country,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and must comply with INTERPOL\u2019s Constitution and Rules.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Red Notices are issued for fugitives wanted either for prosecution or to serve a sentence in relation to serious ordinary law crimes such as murder, rape and fraud.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Interpol cannot compel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the law enforcement authorities in any of the countries to arrest someone who has a RN issued.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/cbi\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Central Bureau of Investigation<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is India&#8217;s <\/span><b>National Central Bureau<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NCB) for INTERPOL, handling Red Notices for all crimes, including wildlife offenses.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2199366&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>INTERPOL Red Notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action.
