Broadcasting said that till date 1,469 titles, equaling 4.3 lakh minutes of films, have been digitized under the National Film Heritage Mission (NFHM).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Film Heritage Mission<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was launched in <\/span><b>2015 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by the <\/span><b>Ministry of Information and Broadcasting<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for <\/span><b>restoring and preserving<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>film heritage of India.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Implementation Agency:<\/b> <b>National Film Archive of India, Pune.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Objectives<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Condition assessment of film reels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to ascertain the remaining life of the film.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>2K\/4K picture and sound restoration of landmark films <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of India and <\/span><b>recording of new picture and sound inter-negatives<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of each film.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Digitization of films.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Construction <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of archival and <\/span><b>preservation facilities called vaults.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Training and workshops<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for in-house capacity building.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Web-based end-to-end IT solution.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Facts about National Film Archive of India (NFAI)<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>established <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in February <\/span><b>1964<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as a<\/span><b> media unit <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of th<\/span><b>e Ministry of Information and Broadcasting<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Government of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its primary <\/span><b>objective <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is to <\/span><b>acquire and preserve Indian cinematic heritage.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This includes<\/span><b> preservation of film and non-film material,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including but not limited to <\/span><b>celluloid, stills, glass slides, posters, lobby cards, scripts, and song booklets.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beyond safeguarding celluloid history, the NFAI actively <\/span><b>promotes Indian cinema.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They<\/span><b> organize screenings, film appreciation courses,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and research programs, fostering a deeper understanding of Indian film culture.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;
