Makhana being nutritionally rich, culturally significant, and economically vital, supports thousands of small farmers, especially the <\/span><b>Mallah Community<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, making it a strategic crop for inclusive rural development.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>National Makhana Board<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Makhana Board was inaugurated by Prime Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/narendra-modi\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Narendra Modi<\/strong><\/a> in Purnea, Bihar, on 15 September 2025, following the announcement in the Union Budget 2025-26. Headquartered in <\/span><b>Purnea<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Board has been established with a government-approved development package of Rs 476.03 crore.
