{"id":7823,"date":"2022-11-13T01:47:28","date_gmt":"2022-11-12T20:17:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=7823"},"modified":"2026-01-02T18:14:46","modified_gmt":"2026-01-02T12:44:46","slug":"current-account-deficit-upsc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/current-account-deficit-upsc\/","title":{"rendered":"Current Account Deficit"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Current Account Deficit:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Balance of Payments (BoP):<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The Balance of payments (BoP) records the transactions in goods, services and assets between residents of a country with the rest of the world.<\/li>\n<li>There are two main accounts in the BoP \u2013\n<ul>\n<li><strong>the current account and<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>the capital account.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Current Account:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The current account records exports and imports in goods and services and transfer payments.<\/li>\n<li>Trade in services denoted as invisible trade (because they are not seen to cross national borders) includes both\n<ul>\n<li>factor income (payment for inputs-investment income, that is, the interest, profits and dividends on our assets abroad minus the income foreigners earn on assets they own in India) and<\/li>\n<li>non-factor income (shipping, banking, insurance, tourism, software services, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Transfer payments are receipts which the residents of a country receive \u2018for free\u2019, without having to make any present or future payments in return. They consist of remittances, gifts and grants.
