{"id":78356,"date":"2025-12-17T13:19:31","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T07:49:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=78356"},"modified":"2025-12-17T15:20:54","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T09:50:54","slug":"national-digital-livestock-mission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-digital-livestock-mission\/","title":{"rendered":"National Digital Livestock Mission"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>National Digital Livestock Mission Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, informed the Lok\u00a0 Sabha about the National Digital Livestock Mission (NDLM).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Digital Livestock Mission<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was launched by <\/span><b>the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Government of India for creating a <\/span><b>digital database of livestock<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>related services<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> across the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Aims: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To enhance <\/span><b>livestock productivity and breed improvement<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, strengthen disease surveillance and control, enable traceability of livestock products and create a farmer-centric <\/span><b>digital ecosystem for efficient service delivery.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been implemented <\/span><b>across all States in India.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The digital backbone of the mission is the<\/span><b> \u2018Bharat Pashudhan\u2019 platform.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Bharat Pashudhan\u2019 platform <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">includes mobile and web-based applications used by field workers <\/span><b>to record livestock-related activities.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each animal is assigned a <\/span><b>unique 12-digit bar-coded ear tag<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which serves as its digital identity.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using this system, field workers c<\/span><b>apture data on animal registration<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, artificial insemination and breeding, ownership changes, vaccinations, disease reporting, milk recording, ration balancing and e-prescriptions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Objectives of the National Digital Livestock Mission<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Improving breeding outcomes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> suited to India\u2019s diverse agro-climatic conditions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enabling <\/span><b>real-time disease monitoring<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and control, and establishing a <\/span><b>robust traceability mechanism <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for livestock products.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mission also focuses on <\/span><b>empowering farmers by providing easy access<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to information on government schemes and livestock-related services.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2204580&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Digital Livestock Mission was launched by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India.
