{"id":78659,"date":"2025-12-19T14:43:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T09:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=78659"},"modified":"2025-12-20T13:27:31","modified_gmt":"2025-12-20T07:57:31","slug":"development-communication-and-information-dissemination-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/development-communication-and-information-dissemination-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Development Communication and Information Dissemination Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Development Communication and Information Dissemination Scheme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting informed the Lok Sabha about the Development Communication and Information Dissemination Scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Development Communication and Information Dissemination Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>Central Sector Scheme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the <\/span><b>Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It supports the information dissemination and <\/span><b>citizen outreach of Government programmes\/ schemes\/initiatives.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It emphasizes on reaching out to <\/span><b>the rural, tribal, remote and urban populations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> across the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Implementation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting through its media units &#8211; <\/span><b>Central Bureau of Communication<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (CBC<\/span><b>), Press Information Bureau<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (PIB), and <\/span><b>New Media Wing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NMW).<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CBC carries out a number of public multimedia campaigns for information dissemination about the various schemes of the Government like Swacch Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Rural &amp; Urban, Jal Jeevan Mission etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>What is the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC)?<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a unit of the <\/span><b>Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Mandate:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It has a mandate of providing <\/span><b>360 degrees communication solutions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to Ministries, Departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and autonomous bodies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Background:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It was set up on <\/span><b>8th December 2017<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by the integration of the erstwhile Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP), and Song &amp; Drama Division (S&amp;DD).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Function: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is engaged in the <\/span><b>process of educating people,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> both rural and urban, about the Government\u2019s policies and programmes to evoke their participation in developmental activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2205747&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Development Communication and Information Dissemination Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
