{"id":79233,"date":"2025-12-23T12:11:39","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T06:41:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=79233"},"modified":"2025-12-23T14:37:18","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T09:07:18","slug":"khwaja-moinuddin-chishti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/khwaja-moinuddin-chishti\/","title":{"rendered":"Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Supreme Court recently declined urgent hearing of a plea against the practice of state-sponsored ceremonial honours or offering a &#8216;Chadar&#8217; by the Prime Minister at the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, in Ajmer.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was a very important <\/span><b>Sufi saint.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People often call him <\/span><b>Ghar\u012bb Naw\u0101z, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which means <\/span><b>&#8216;Benefactor of the Poor&#8217;.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was <\/span><b>born <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in <\/span><b>1141 CE in Sistan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a province in <\/span><b>Persia (Iran) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which borders present-day Afghanistan.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His deep inclination towards spirituality led him to <\/span><b>study in Samarkand and Bukhara<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the great <\/span><b>centres of Islamic learning.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A follower of Sunni Hanafi theology, he<\/span><b> became the disciple of Hazrat Khwaja Usman Harooni, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who later<\/span><b> declared him his spiritual successor<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at the age of 52.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He <\/span><b>came to India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> around the year <\/span><b>1192 AD<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. He finally <\/span><b>settled<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the city of <\/span><b>Ajmer during the reign of Sultan Iltutmish in Delhi and Prithviraj Chauhan in Ajmer.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He is <\/span><b>famous for bringing the Chishti Order of <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/the-sufi-movement\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sufism<\/a> to India.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He preached love, tolerance, charity, and detachment from materialism, and <\/span><b>established a Khanqah in Ajmer to serve the poor.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>After his death in 1236 CE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Moinuddin Chishti was <\/span><b>buried in Ajmer.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>His tomb<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> became a very important place.
