But they often get worse over time.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Bile that backs up into your liver<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> may over time cause a type of liver scarring known as <\/span><b>cirrhosis<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
