{"id":81045,"date":"2026-01-05T13:26:17","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T07:56:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=81045"},"modified":"2026-01-05T14:13:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T08:43:07","slug":"design-linked-incentive-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/design-linked-incentive-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Design Linked Incentive Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Design Linked Incentive Scheme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme is critical to anchoring India in the most strategic and value-intensive segment of the global semiconductor value chain\u2014chip design.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Design Linked Incentive Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a key instrument in advancing India\u2019s ambition to <\/span><b>develop a strong fabless capability.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is implemented by the <\/span><b>Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (MeitY) under the <\/span><b>Semicon India Programme.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Aim:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The scheme aims to <\/span><b>reduce import dependence<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>strengthen supply chain resilience<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and enhance <\/span><b>domestic value addition.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Eligibility:\u00a0 Start-ups and MSMEs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are eligible for financial incentives and design infrastructure support for <\/span><b>semiconductor product design &amp; deployment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other <\/span><b>domestic companies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are eligible for financial incentives for deploying semiconductor designs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>The DLI Scheme supports: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Semiconductor design across the full lifecycle\u2014from design and development to deployment\u2014covering Integrated Circuits (ICs), chipsets, Systems-on-Chip (SoCs), systems and IP cores.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nodal Agency:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Financial Incentives and Design Infrastructure Support under DLI<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Product Design Linked Incentive<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reimbursement of up to <\/span><b>50% of eligible expenditure.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The reimbursement <\/span><b>is capped at \u20b915 crore<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> per application.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The support is available to entities involved in semiconductor design for: <\/span><b>Integrated Circuits<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ICs) Chipsets Systems on Chips (SoCs) Systems &amp; IP Cores Semiconductor-linked designs.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Deployment Linked Incentive<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Incentives <\/span><b>of 6% to 4% of net sales turnover<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are provided for <\/span><b>five years.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The incentive is capped at \u20b9<\/span><b>30 crore per application.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The minimum cumulative net sales required <\/span><b>over Years 1\u20135 is 1 crore for startups<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\/ \u20b9 MSMEs and 5 crore for other domestic companies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2211220&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Design Linked Incentive Scheme is a key instrument in advancing India\u2019s ambition to develop a strong fabless capability.
