{"id":82005,"date":"2026-06-26T13:07:52","date_gmt":"2026-06-26T07:37:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=82005"},"modified":"2026-06-26T13:41:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-26T08:11:10","slug":"narco-coordination-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/narco-coordination-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Narco-Coordination Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Narco-Coordination Centre Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Union Home Minister is scheduled to chair the 10th Apex-Level Meeting of the Narco-Coordination Centre (NCORD) in New Delhi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Narco-Coordination Centre<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Narco-Coordination Centre (NCORD) mechanism was <\/span><b>established in 2016<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for better coordination <\/span><b>between states and the Ministry of Home Affairs.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been further strengthened through a <\/span><b>four-tier system in 2019.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Purpose:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To enhance <\/span><b>coordination between the States<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Ministry of Home Affairs and concerned stakeholders in addressing the <\/span><b>challenge of the drug menace<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a holistic manner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is designed to facilitate better communication, cooperation, and intelligence sharing among law enforcement and drug control agencies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Structure of Narco-Coordination Centre (NCORD)<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Apex Level NCORD Committee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: It is headed by Union Home Secretary;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Executive Level NCORD Committee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: It is headed by Special Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>State Level NCORD Committees: It is <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">headed by Chief Secretaries; and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>District Level NCORD Committees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: It is headed by District Magistrates.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Initiatives of Narco-Coordination Centre (NCORD)<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Mission SPANDAN<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Partnership with spiritual institutions for awareness have emerged out of the NCORD mechanism.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/manas-helpline\/#:~:text=%2B-,Ans.,July%202024%20by%20the%20Government.\" target=\"_blank\">MANAS Helpline<\/a>:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A toll-free helpline called MANAS (Madak Padarth Nishedh Asuchna Kendra) with the number 1933 has been launched.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b><strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/newsonair.gov.in\/home-minister-amit-shah-to-chair-10th-ncord-apex-level-meeting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">News On Air<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Narco-Coordination Centre  mechanism was established in 2016 for better coordination between states and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
