India is now the <\/span><b>3rd largest<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> startup ecosystem globally.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Growth trajectory<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Less than 500 startups, and 4 unicorns in 2014. Over 2 lakh DPIIT-recognised startups, and about 125 active unicorns in 2025.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Impact: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Startups \u2192 Unicorns \u2192 IPOs \u2192 creates a virtuous cycle of job creation, and innovation-led growth.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Cultural shift &#8211; Mainstreaming risk-taking:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Risk-taking is now socially accepted and respected, unlike earlier stigma. India is the <\/span><b>2nd largest <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ecosystem of women-led startups globally.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Geographical spread<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Rapid rise in tier-2, tier-3 cities and rural areas.
