Sukhatme.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is given to the <\/span><b>senior Indian Statisticians<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for their <\/span><b>lifetime contributions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and achievements in the field of Statistics.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It recognizes the exceptional\/ outstanding contribution made by the individuals in terms of high-quality research work, to improve the system of official statistics.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This prestigious award is given in <\/span><b>alternate years since the year 2000.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Award carries a citation, shawl and memento<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Eligibility:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is given to eminent Indian <\/span><b>Statisticians of the age 45 years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and above for their Lifetime Contributions and Achievements in the field of Statistics.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nomination:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The eligible <\/span><b>candidates can nominate themselves<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or the names can also be <\/span><b>proposed by institution.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Award Presentation:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Award will be presented during <\/span><b>Statistics Day function on 29th June.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Posthumous Cases:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If the person proposed to be honoured, has passed away recently (say within a year), the award <\/span><b>may be given posthumously.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2215144&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sukhatme National Award in Statistics 2026 has been instituted by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation in the memory of Prof. P.V.
