{"id":8373,"date":"2023-04-07T07:46:07","date_gmt":"2023-04-07T02:16:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=8373"},"modified":"2025-03-29T02:38:21","modified_gmt":"2025-03-28T21:08:21","slug":"hybrid-solar-eclipse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/hybrid-solar-eclipse\/","title":{"rendered":"Hybrid Solar Eclipse"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About<\/strong> <strong>Hybrid Solar Eclipse:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What it is? <\/strong>A hybrid eclipse is a type of <strong>solar eclipse that looks like an annular solar eclipse or a total solar eclipse, <\/strong>depending on the observer&#8217;s location along the central eclipse path.<\/li>\n<li>During a hybrid solar eclipse, the Earth&#8217;s curvature brings some sections of the eclipse path into the <strong>Moon&#8217;s umbra,<\/strong> the darkest part of its shadow that creates total solar eclipses, while other areas remain outside the umbra&#8217;s reach, causing an annular eclipse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What is a total solar eclipse?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It happens when <strong>the Moon passes between the Earth and Sun<\/strong> while completely blocking the face of the Sun.<\/li>\n<li>It will be visible to the people located in the centre of the Moon\u2019s shadow when it hits Earth.<\/li>\n<li>If the weather conditions are right, people in the path of the solar eclipse will be able to see the Sun\u2019s corona (outer atmosphere).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What is an annular eclipse?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It happens when <strong>the moon is farthest from the Earth<\/strong>, which is why it seems smaller.<\/li>\n<li>In this type of eclipse, the <strong>moon does not block the sun completely<\/strong> but looks like a \u201cdark disk on top of a larger sun-coloured disk\u201d forming a \u201cring of fire.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What is an eclipse?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It happens when the <strong>moon, while orbiting the Earth<\/strong>, <strong>comes in between the sun<\/strong> and <strong>the Earth, <\/strong>due to which the moon blocks the sun\u2019s light from reaching the Earth, causing an eclipse of the sun or a solar eclipse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is Penumbra?<\/h3>\n<p>It is the portion of the Moon\u2019s shadow in which only part of the Sun is covered.
