style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cadre allocation is a critical administrative process that determines the State or Joint Cadre in which officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Forest Service (IFoS) serve.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The system aims to balance two key objectives:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensuring national integration through inter-State exposure and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Respecting regional familiarity by allowing limited home-state representation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since 2017, cadre allocation has been governed by a zonal system, where States were grouped into <\/span><b>five zones<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Candidates were required to rank zones and cadres within them.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over time, several State governments and aspirants raised concerns about uneven cadre distribution, lack of transparency, and rigid allocation outcomes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Introduction of the New Grouping Structure<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The revised policy replaces the zonal arrangement with <\/span><b>four alphabetical groups of State and Joint Cadres<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), all cadres have been arranged alphabetically and distributed into four groups to simplify and 400;\">This structure replaces the earlier five-zone model that had geographical clustering, which often resulted in repeated regional concentration of officers.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Objectives of the Revised Policy<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span requisitions by January 31; failing which, late submissions will not be considered.
