Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak on 12 rat miners in recognition of their exceptional courage and selfless service during the Silkyara Tunnel Rescue Operation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Jeevan Raksha Padak<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>conferred on individuals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who <\/span><b>undertake life-saving efforts during incidents<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as drowning, fire accidents, electrocution, natural calamities including landslides, animal attacks, and rescue operations in mines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Categories: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Jeevan Raksha Padak series comprises three categories.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is awarded for conspicuous courage in saving life under circumstances of <\/span><b>very great danger to the rescuer.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: It is conferred for courage and promptitude in saving life <\/span><b>under conditions of great danger.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Jeevan Raksha Padak:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is awarded for courage and promptitude in life-saving acts where the <\/span><b>rescuer sustains grievous bodily injury.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Eligibility for Jeevan Raksha Padak\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The awards are open to <\/span><b>individuals from all walks of life.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Members of the Armed Forces, Police Forces and recognised Fire Services are also eligible, provided the act of bravery is performed beyond the call of normal duty.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Personnel of Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organisations are also eligible under the revised framework.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>presented to the awardees by the respective Union Ministries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\/Organizations\/State Government to which the awardee belongs.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of Jeevan Raksha Padak Awards<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its <\/span><b>nominations are invited annually<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from States\/UTs and Union Ministries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The recommendations of the award are considered by the Awards Committee within a period of <\/span><b>two calendar years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the date of performance of the act.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Final approval is given by the <\/span><b>Prime Minister and the President of India.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Award:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The decoration of the award consists of a <\/span><b>Medal, Certificate, along with a one-time monetary allowance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak <\/span><b>(\u20b92 lakh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), <\/span><b>Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padam (\u20b91.5 lakh) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Jeevan Raksha (\u20b91 lakh).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No other facility\/benefit in terms of any concession in Railways, Airfare etc. is provided by the
