{"id":8525,"date":"2023-04-14T04:11:48","date_gmt":"2023-04-13T22:41:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=8525"},"modified":"2025-03-29T03:33:00","modified_gmt":"2025-03-28T22:03:00","slug":"animal-health-system-support-for-one-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/animal-health-system-support-for-one-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Animal Health System Support for One Health"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Animal Health System Support for One Health:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a <strong>collaborative project<\/strong> between the <strong>Department of Animal Husbandry<\/strong> and Dairying and the <strong>World Bank.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is aiming to create an ecosystem for a <strong>better animal health management system<\/strong> using the <strong>One Health approach<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It will <strong>be implemented in five States<\/strong> and it envisages improving capacity building of stakeholders involved in animal health and disease management.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Duration of the project:<\/strong> It will be implemented over a <strong>five-year period as a Central sector scheme<\/strong> with a financial provision of Rs. 1228.70 Cr.<\/li>\n<li>The project calls for participation by Human Health, Forest and Environment Department at the national, regional as well as local for creating and strengthening the One Health architecture including community engagement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What is Animal Pandemic Preparedness Initiative (APPI)?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Department Animal Husbandry has conceived a focused framework of the for future <strong>animal pandemic and epidemics.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Few key activities under APPI which are at different stages of execution are as follows:\n<ul>\n<li>Defined <strong>joint investigation and outbreak response<\/strong> teams (National &amp; state)<\/li>\n<li>Design an overall <strong>integrated disease surveillance system<\/strong> (built on National Digital Livestock Mission)<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening the Regulatory system (e.g., Nandi online portal and Field trial guidelines)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is pandemic?<\/h3>\n<p>A pandemic is an outbreak of a disease that spreads across a large geographic area, affecting a significant portion of the population.
