{"id":85885,"date":"2026-02-04T16:08:32","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T10:38:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=85885"},"modified":"2026-02-05T16:19:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T10:49:07","slug":"pm-vikas-scheme-upsc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pm-vikas-scheme-upsc\/","title":{"rendered":"PM VIKAS Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>PM VIKAS Scheme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the union minister of minority affairs informed the Rajya Sabha about the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About PM VIKAS Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>Central Sector Scheme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> launched in 2025.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It focuses on <\/span><b>socio-economic empowerment of six notified minority communities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to <\/span><b>ensure inclusive growth<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for not only the minority and artisan communities but also for the youth and women.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Objectives of PM VIKAS Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Skill Development:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To build <\/span><b>capacity of minority communities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through targeted interventions by providing skill training support in need-based courses and ensuring employment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Cultural Preservation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To preserve and <\/span><b>promote the cultural heritage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including traditional arts and craft forms by propagation of literature\/ documents\/ manuscripts and showcasing their unique ICH.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Educational Support:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To provide <\/span><b>formal education and certification<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> up to 8th, 10th, and 12th through open schooling to school dropouts from minority communities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Leadership and Entrepreneurship:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To <\/span><b>empower women from minority communities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and instil confidence amongst them by providing leadership and entrepreneurship support.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Key Features of PM VIKAS Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>National Minorities Development &amp; Finance Corporation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NMDFC) has been given the responsibility of providing finance to the communities.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">School dropouts are given formal education as well as certification.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts<\/b> <b>provides market linkages<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in order to provide livelihood opportunities for beneficiaries.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u2018<\/span><b>Hub and Spoke\u2019 model<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is used to establish Vishwakarma Villages to support the artisans and their crafts.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nodal Ministry:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ministry of Minority Affairs<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2222788&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The PM VIKAS Scheme focuses on socio-economic empowerment of six notified minority communities.
