{"id":86538,"date":"2026-02-07T13:14:51","date_gmt":"2026-02-07T07:44:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=86538"},"modified":"2026-02-07T17:51:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-07T12:21:14","slug":"bharat-genai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/bharat-genai\/","title":{"rendered":"Bharat GenAI"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Bharat GenAI Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Ministry of Science &amp; Technology informed that Bharat GenAI Large Language Model will complete text models in all 22 scheduled languages this month.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Bharat GenAI<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BharatGen is the first <\/span><b>government supported national initiative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to develop a range of sovereign foundational AI models tailored to <\/span><b>Indian languages and societal contexts.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Aim:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> BharatGen aims to <\/span><b>revolutionize AI development<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> across India\u2019s linguistic and cultural spectrum.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It spans multiple modalities, <\/span><b>including text<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (via <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/llm\/\" target=\"_blank\">Large Language Models<\/a><\/strong>), <\/span><b>speech<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Text-to-Speech and Automatic Speech Recognition), and <\/span><b>vision-language systems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently, <\/span><b>it supports 15 Indian languages<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which include Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Maithili, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil and Telugu.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is developed under the <\/span><b>National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NM-ICPS) and implemented <\/span><b>through TIH Foundation for IoT and IoE at IIT Bombay.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is being executed through a network of <\/span><b>25 Technology Innovation Hubs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (TIHs), four of which have been upgraded to Technology Translational Research Parks (TTRPs).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Pillars of Bharat GenAI:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The Mission\u2019s four pillars include <\/span><b>technology development, entrepreneurship, human resource development, and international collaboration<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>It has four key Features<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Multilingual and multimodal models<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bhartiya dataset-based training<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open-source platform<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Generative AI research ecosystem in India<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2224028&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1#:~:text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bharat GenAI is the first government supported national initiative to develop a range of sovereign foundational AI models.
