{"id":86549,"date":"2026-02-07T14:29:04","date_gmt":"2026-02-07T08:59:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=86549"},"modified":"2026-02-07T15:50:26","modified_gmt":"2026-02-07T10:20:26","slug":"model-context-protocol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/model-context-protocol\/","title":{"rendered":"Model Context Protocol"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Model Context Protocol Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the National Statistics Office under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) launched the beta version of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for eSankhyiki portal.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Model Context Protocol<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a technology that allows <\/span><b>users to connect directly<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with datasets through <\/span><b>their own AI tools and applications.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a standard way to make <\/span><b>information available to large language models (<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LLMs).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using MCP, AI applications can <\/span><b>connect to data sources<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (e.g. local files, databases), <\/span><b>tools <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(e.g. search engines, calculators) and <\/span><b>workflows <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(e.g. specialized prompts)\u2014enabling them to access key information and perform tasks.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Key Facts about eSankhyiki portal<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It provides <\/span><b>real-time inputs for planners<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, policy-makers, researchers and the public at large.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The objective of this portal is to <\/span><b>establish a comprehensive data management<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and sharing system for ease of dissemination of official statistics in the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>It has two modules namely:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Data Catalogue Module:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This module <\/span><b>catalogues the major data assets<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the Ministry at one place for ease of access.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It allows users to search within datasets, including within tables, and download data of interest to increase its value and re-usability.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The module has seven data products, namely <\/span><b>National Accounts Statistics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Consumer Price Index, <\/span><b>Index of Industrial Production,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Annual Survey of Industries, Periodic Labour Force Survey, Household Consumption Expenditure Survey and Multiple Indicator Survey.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Macro Indicators Module:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This module offers time <\/span><b>series data of key macro indicators<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with features for filtering and visualizing data enabling ease of access for the users.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It allows users to download custom datasets, visualizations and share <\/span><b>them through APIs, thereby increasing the re-usability of data.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2224472&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Model Context Protocol is a technology that allows users to connect directly with datasets through their own AI tools and applications.
