{"id":87553,"date":"2026-02-13T13:30:14","date_gmt":"2026-02-13T08:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=87553"},"modified":"2026-02-13T14:49:48","modified_gmt":"2026-02-13T09:19:48","slug":"agristack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/agristack\/","title":{"rendered":"AgriStack"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>AgriStack Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Finance Minister announced the launch of Bharat-VISTAAR, a multilingual AI tool to integrate the AgriStack portals and the ICAR package on agricultural practices with AI systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About\u00a0 AgriStack<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AgriStack is a <\/span><b>Digital Public Infrastructure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DPI) for the farm sector.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an initiative under the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/digital-agriculture-mission\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Digital Agriculture Mission<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DAM), and was approved by the Union Cabinet in September, 2024.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The AgriStack comprises t<\/span><b>hree foundational registries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or databases in the agriculture sector:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Farmer Registry<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Geo-referenced village maps and<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>Crop Sown Registry<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, all created and maintained by the State Governments or Union Territories.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Farmer Registry<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the AgriStack, <\/span><b>farmers are given digital identities (Farmer ID) which are linked dynamically to the State\u2019s land records, livestock ownership<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, crops sown, demographic details, family details, schemes and benefits availed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Target:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The government aims to create digital identities <\/span><b>for 11 crore farmers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Centre has allocated financial support to states<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to create their respective registries under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Advantage:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A farmer would be able to <\/span><b>access benefits and services digitally<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Centre aims to complete the Farmer Registry with dynamic Records of Rights (RoR) <\/span><b>synchronisation by March 2027.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In the <\/span><b>North Eastern States,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the target was set <\/span><b>to March 2028.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Crop Sown Registry<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It includes <\/span><b>details on crops planted by farmers.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is recorded through <\/span><b>mobile-based Digital Crop Surveys<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on the ground each season.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A pilot on the Digital Crop Survey was conducted in 11 states to develop the Crop Sown Registry in 2023-24.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Geo-referenced Village Maps data<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It comprises <\/span><b>geographic information of land records<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> linked with their locations (latitudes and longitudes).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The target is to cover all <\/span><b>villages by March 2027.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/explained\/agristack-sitharaman-next-upi-10528472\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">IE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AgriStack is a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for the farm sector.
