{"id":87553,"date":"2026-09-04T13:30:14","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T08:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=87553"},"modified":"2026-09-04T14:49:32","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T09:19:32","slug":"agristack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/agristack\/","title":{"rendered":"AgriStack"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>AgriStack Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Telangana recently secured a total of \u20b9599 crore in central incentives for achieving key milestones under the Centre\u2019s AgriStack programme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About AgriStack<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a<\/span><b> Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the<\/span><b> farm sector.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an initiative <\/span><b>under the<\/b> <b>Digital Agriculture Mission (DAM)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and was approved by the Union Cabinet in September <\/span><b>2024<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It comprises<\/span><b> three foundational registries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or databases in the agriculture sector:\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Farmer Registry, Geo-referenced village maps, and the Crop Sown Registry, all <\/span><b>created and maintained by the State Governments or Union Territories.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Farmer Registry:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the AgriStack, <\/span><b>farmers are given digital identities (Farmer ID),<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which are <\/span><b>linked dynamically to the State\u2019s land records, livestock ownership, crops sown<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, demographic details, family details, schemes, and benefits availed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Target<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: The government aims to <\/span><b>create digital identities for 11 crore farmers.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Centre has allocated <\/span><b>financial support to states to create their respective registries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Advantage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: A farmer would be able to<\/span><b> access benefits and services digitally.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Centre aims to complete the Farmer Registry with dynamic Records of Rights (RoR) synchronisation by March 2027. In the Northeastern States, the target was set to March 2028.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Crop Sown Registry:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It includes details on <\/span><b>crops planted by farmers.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is recorded <\/span><b>through mobile-based Digital Crop Surveys on the ground<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> each season.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Geo-Referenced Village Map Registry:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It comprises <\/span><b>geographic information of land records linked with their locations <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(latitudes and longitudes).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The target is to cover all villages by March 2027.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Once fully implemented,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Agristack will enable <\/span><b>farmers to receive several benefits <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">through a paperless and contactless digital ecosystem, including:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Paperless and contactless crop loan facilities.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transparent and<\/span><b> efficient crop insurance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> claim settlement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Timely availability of agricultural inputs.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Personalized<\/span><b> advisories on pests and diseases.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/direct-benefit-transfer-dbt\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of government scheme benefits.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Procurement of agricultural produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Agristack will enable the Government to deliver services to farmers in a more transparent, efficient, and technology-driven manner while improving the accessibility and effectiveness of agricultural support systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>News: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/city\/hyderabad\/telangana-bags-599cr-in-agristack-incentives\/articleshow\/133660704.cms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><b>TOI<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AgriStack is a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for the farm sector.
