{"id":8767,"date":"2022-10-31T03:13:10","date_gmt":"2022-10-30T21:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=8767"},"modified":"2025-03-29T08:59:23","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T03:29:23","slug":"anti-semitism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/anti-semitism\/","title":{"rendered":"Anti-Semitism"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Anti-Semitism:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Anti-Semitism<\/strong>\u00a0refers to\u00a0<strong>any form of prejudice against the Jewish people.<\/strong>\u00a0However, the term itself is a misnomer as Semitic\u00a0<strong>designates a language group, not a race.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Though anti-Semitism can linguistically be used to describe a prejudice against speakers of the Semitic languages (including\u00a0<strong>Arabs and Ethiopians<\/strong>,) in practical terms, it is\u00a0<strong>commonly used specifically to pertain to Jews.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Types of Anti-Semitism<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Racial anti-Semitism,<\/strong>\u00a0most commonly associated with the Nazis, stems from a belief that\u00a0<strong>Jews are a distinct, inferior race with inherent genetic traits.<\/strong>\u00a0This form usually manifests in the belief that\u00a0<strong>Jews need to be exterminated altogether.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Religious anti-Semitism<\/strong>\u00a0traces its roots to the early days of Christianity and is accompanied by a notion that\u00a0<strong>Jews should be converted to other faiths.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Social anti-Semitism\u00a0<\/strong>is a form of\u00a0<strong>exclusion of Jews from social situations.<\/strong>\u00a0For example, a practice was reported in 1959 which claimed that Jews in America were routinely excluded from golf and sports clubs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Economic anti-Semitism<\/strong>\u00a0posits that Jews have a disproportionate degree of control over global and national financial institutions, and that their stronghold over those institutions ought to be diminished.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Political anti-Semitism<\/strong>\u00a0is the attempt to\u00a0<strong>keep Jews out of power<\/strong>.
