{"id":87884,"date":"2026-02-15T14:50:54","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T09:20:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=87884"},"modified":"2026-02-17T11:55:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T06:25:09","slug":"pm-rahat-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pm-rahat-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"PM RAHAT Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>PM RAHAT Scheme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the government of India launched the PM RAHAT (Road Accident Victim Hospitalization and Assured Treatment) Scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About PM RAHAT Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has <\/span><b>prioritized life-saving intervention<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>financial certainty for hospitals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and a structured emergency response system for accident victims.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of PM RAHAT Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will be integrated with the <\/span><b>Emergency Response Support System<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ERSS) 112 enabling victims, Good Samaritans to dial 112 to locate the nearest designated hospital and <\/span><b>request ambulance assistance.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the Scheme, every eligible road accident victim on any category of road will be entitled to cashless <\/span><b>treatment up to \u20b91.5 lakh per victim.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is implemented through amalgamating the <\/span><b>Electronic Detailed Accident Report (eDAR) platform<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways with the <\/span><b>Transaction Management System<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (TMS 2.0) of the <\/span><b>National Health Authority.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Reimbursement:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To hospitals will be made through the <\/span><b>Motor Vehicle Accident Fund<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (MVAF).<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In cases where the <\/span><b>offending vehicle is insured<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, payment will be drawn from contributions made by General Insurance Companies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In uninsured and Hit &amp; Run cases, payment will be made through <\/span><b>budgetary allocation by the Government of India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Grievance Redressal:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Grievances will be addressed by a <\/span><b>Grievance Redressal Officer nominated <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by the <\/span><b>District Road Safety Committee chaired by the District Collector<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \/ District Magistrate.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2228172&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PM RAHAT Scheme has prioritized life-saving intervention, financial certainty for hospitals, and a structured emergency response system for accident victims.
