It is the <strong>largest tributary of the Chambal<\/strong> River and plays a significant role in the drainage system of <strong>eastern Rajasthan.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Banas River Location and Origin<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Banas River Basin is <strong>located<\/strong> in the eastern part of Rajasthan and occupies a significant area in the east of the Aravali mountain range.<\/li>\n<li>The river <strong>originates<\/strong> from the Khamnor Hills, near Kumbhalgarh in the <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/aravalli-range\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Aravalli Range<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Its <strong>source<\/strong> lies in the Rajsamand district at an elevation of around 500 meters above sea level.<\/li>\n<li>It is bounded in the east by Chambal river basin, in the north by Gambhir and Banganga river basins, in the west by Shekhawati and Luni river basins and in the south by Sabarmati and Mahi river basins.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Banas River Course<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Banas River flows in a northeast direction across Rajasthan.
