The<\/span> Indian Army<\/b> is hosting the first United Nations training programme on Small Arms Control for the Asia-Pacific region at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n

  • India is hosting the first United Nations training programme on Small Arms and Light Weapons <\/span>(SALW)<\/b> control for the Asia-Pacific region in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. This step highlights India\u2019s growing role in promoting global peace and disarmament.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • The programme started at the<\/span> Military College of Materials Management (MCMM), Jabalpur<\/b> and will continue for three weeks. <\/span>Delegates from 13 countries<\/b> of the Asia-Pacific region are taking part in this training.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • The programme is being conducted under the guidance of the <\/span>Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defence.<\/b> It is organised by the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs <\/span>(UNODA)<\/b> through its Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific <\/span>(UNRCPD)<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
