{"id":88881,"date":"2026-02-20T13:08:50","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T07:38:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=88881"},"modified":"2026-02-20T15:15:53","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T09:45:53","slug":"vibrant-villages-programme-ii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/vibrant-villages-programme-ii\/","title":{"rendered":"Vibrant Villages Programme\u2013II"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Vibrant Villages Programme\u2013II Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Union Home Minister will launch the Vibrant Villages Programme-II in the Cachar district of Assam.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Vibrant Villages Programme\u2013II<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>Central Sector Scheme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (100% Centre funding).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is designed to ensure <\/span><b>comprehensive and sustainable development<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of border villages through a saturation-based and convergence-driven approach.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Objective:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To create better <\/span><b>living conditions and adequate livelihood opportunities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to ensure prosperous and safe borders, <\/span><b>control trans-border crime<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and assimilate the border population with the nation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>States Covered:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is implemented in the States\/UTs of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, J&amp;K. Ladakh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>excludes the Northern border<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> already covered under VVP-I.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Financial Outlay:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It has a total outlay of <\/span><b>Rs 6,839 crore<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to be implemented till the<\/span><b> FY 2028-29.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Key Features of Vibrant Villages Programme-II<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It shall provide funds for <\/span><b>infrastructure development<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> within the village or a cluster of villages like education infrastructure like SMART classes, development of tourism circuits.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>focuses on value chain development<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through cooperatives, SHGs, etc to create diverse &amp; sustainable livelihood opportunities in the border areas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>emphasizes enhancing vibrancy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in these villages by organizing activities including fairs &amp; festivals, awareness camps, celebration of National days.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2230157&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vibrant Villages Programme\u2013II is a Central Sector Scheme (100% Centre funding).
