{"id":8932,"date":"2022-10-29T05:30:02","date_gmt":"2022-10-29T00:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=8932"},"modified":"2025-03-29T10:14:16","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T04:44:16","slug":"one-nation-one-police-uniform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/one-nation-one-police-uniform\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018One nation, one police uniform\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About \u2018One nation, one police uniform\u2019:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>His suggestion \u201cOne Nation, One Uniform\u201d is in line with his broader attempt to introduce a uniform set of policies across the country.<br \/>\nCurrently, there is a \u2018one nation, one ration\u2019 card; \u2018one nation, one mobility\u2019 card; \u2018one nation, one grid\u2019 and a \u2018one nation, one sign language\u2019.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Law and order:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Indian Constitution puts police forces under the\u00a0<strong>jurisdiction of state governments<\/strong>, and each of the 28 states have their own police force.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Both \u2018public order\u2019 and the \u2018police\u2019 are placed in List II (State List) of the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution<\/strong>, which deals with the division of powers between the Union and States.<\/li>\n<li>While police personnel in India are often associated with the colour khaki, their uniforms do differ in varying degrees in different regions.<\/li>\n<li>Since state governments and even an individual force can decide the uniform their personnel wear, there are at times inconsistencies in their official attire.
