official records and restore the Suav, a major tributary of the Rapti river status from a \u201cdrain\u201d to a \u201criver\u201d in the revenue records and gazetteer.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Rapti River<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rapti River is the most important <\/span><b>left bank tributary of the Ghaghra River.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Historically, the Rapti River was <\/span><b>known as Iravati.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Origin:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The Rapti River originates in Nepal near <\/span><b>Rukumkot in the Mahabharat range<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the lesser Himalayas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The river begins in <\/span><b>Nepal&#8217;s 400;\"> The entire basin&#8217;s topography is made up of lofty mountains, <\/span><b>inner and outer Tarai, and undulating plain regions.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has two <\/span><b>distinct climatic regions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> due to altitude differences: the <\/span><b>mountainous region<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has a temperate climate, while the plain region has a <\/span><b>subtropical climate.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Key Facts about National Green Tribunal<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been established under the <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/national-green-tribunal\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Green Tribunal Act, 2010<\/a>.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a specialized body equipped with the necessary expertise to <\/span><b>handle environmental disputes involving <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">multi-disciplinary issues.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It shall be guided by
