{"id":8956,"date":"2023-04-12T12:10:33","date_gmt":"2023-04-12T06:40:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=8956"},"modified":"2025-03-29T10:22:47","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T04:52:47","slug":"national-credit-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-credit-framework\/","title":{"rendered":"National Credit Framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About National Credit Framework:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an umbrella framework for skilling, re-skilling, up-skilling, accreditation &amp; evaluation encompassing our people in educational &amp; skilling institutions and workforce.<\/li>\n<li>The framework was developed by a high-level committee, including members from the UGC, AICTE, National Council for Vocational Education and Training, NCERT, CBSE and other educational departments.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How will Credit Framework work?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Every academic assessment right from elementary school level to higher education as well as for vocational training and skill development courses acquired can be creditised and accumulated in the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC).<\/li>\n<li>As per the framework, even experiential learning including relevant experiences and proficiency\/ professional levels and online, digital and blended learning will be creditised.<\/li>\n<li>Nothing is left unmeasured, as outside of classroom learning, sports and games, yoga, physical activities, performing arts, handicrafts, bag less days will also be part of it.<\/li>\n<li>The framework has divided the learning ecosystem into eight level, assigning credits based on learning hours and assessments from Class 5 all the way up to PhD level.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Till Class 12, each subject is assigned 240 hours for self- -study at the school level.<\/li>\n<li>Vocational education and skill training from level 1 to 8 are also part of the framework.<\/li>\n<li>As per this system the final certificate\/ degree will be awarded post the accumulation of the required number of and types of courses and the associated credits.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>At any point of time, the overall credit points accumulated by a student shall be calculated as \u2018total credit points earned\u2019 multiplied by the \u2018weightage assigned to the relevant experience acquired by the student\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Significance:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It empowers the students with flexibility in choice of courses and imaginative and flexible curricular structures with creative combination of disciplines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC)?<\/h3>\n<p>Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) is a virtual\/digital storehouse that contains the information of the credits earned by individual students throughout their learning journey.
