Tsomgo Lake in East Sikkim were rescued recently.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Tsomgo Lake<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tsomgo Lake, also known as <\/span><b>Tsongmo Lake or Changu Lake,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a <\/span><b>glacial lake<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> located in <\/span><b>East Sikkim.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lake <\/span><b>derives its water<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the <\/span><b>melting snow of the mountains<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> surrounding the lake.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Located at an elevation of 3,753 m (12,313 ft), the lake <\/span><b>remains frozen during the winter <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">season.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>After the winter season ends <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the middle of May, the <\/span><b>periphery <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the lake has scenic <\/span><b>blooms of flower species of rhododendrons (the state tree of Sikkim<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), primulas, blue and yellow poppies, irises, and so forth.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also seen in the precincts of the lake are several species of <\/span><b>birds, including Brahminy ducks.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wildlife seen includes the <\/span><b>red panda.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lake surface<\/span><b> reflects different colours with the change of seasons <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and is<\/span><b> held in great reverence by the local Sikkimese<\/b><span
