{"id":90213,"date":"2026-02-27T13:37:35","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T08:07:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=90213"},"modified":"2026-02-27T13:59:31","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T08:29:31","slug":"e-railway-claims-tribunal-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/e-railway-claims-tribunal-system\/","title":{"rendered":"e- Railway Claims Tribunal System"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>e- Railway Claims Tribunal system Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Union Minister for Railways launched the e- Railway Claims Tribunal system as reform number four under Indian Railways\u2019 flagship \u201c52 Reforms in 52 Weeks\u201d initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About e- Railway Claims Tribunal system<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will <\/span><b>enable end-to-end computerisation and digitisation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the Railway Claims Tribunal.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Objective:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It will transform the <\/span><b>filing, processing and adjudication of claims<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by making the process faster, more transparent and accessible from anywhere in the country.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the new system, aggrieved passengers will be able to file claims electronically, irrespective of their location, even while travelling or upon reaching their destination.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The entire process, from e-filing to case information systems will be digitised and AI-enabled.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The platform comprises<\/span><b> three core components<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>E-Filing:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It helps in <\/span><b>24&#215;7 online filing of claims and legal documents<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from any location and uploading of petitions, affidavits, annexures and supporting records.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Case Information System (CIS):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is a <\/span><b>centralized database of all cases<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for auto-allocation, case registration and real-time tracking from filing to final to final disposal.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Document Management System<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DMS): It is the <\/span><b>digital storage of pleadings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, notices, summons, orders and judgements along with digitally signed records<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Key Facts about Railway Claims Tribunal<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was constituted under the <\/span><b>Railway Claims Tribunal Act, 1987.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Functions:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It adjudicates <\/span><b>claims against railway Administration<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> relating to compensation for death or injury in railway accidents and untoward incidents, loss or non-delivery of goods, and refund of fares and freight.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At present, RCT functions through <\/span><b>23 Benches located in 21 cities across India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with <\/span><b>principal bench at Delhi<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Composition: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each bench comprising a <\/span><b>Judicial Member<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a <\/span><b>Technical Member.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2233083&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>e- Railway Claims Tribunal System will enable end-to-end computerisation and digitisation of the Railway Claims Tribunal.
