


{"id":90594,"date":"2026-03-01T11:02:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-01T05:32:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=90594"},"modified":"2026-03-01T14:05:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-01T08:35:40","slug":"yadava-dynasty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/yadava-dynasty\/","title":{"rendered":"Yadava Dynasty"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Yadava Dynasty Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remains of a 12th-century Mandir-style stone pillar from the Seuna (Yadava) dynasty have been recently discovered near the Vena River in Hinganghat, Wardha district, Maharashtra.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Yadava Dynasty<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Yadava Dynasty, also known as the <\/span><b>Seuna Dynasty,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were <\/span><b>rulers of a 12th\u201314th-century Hindu kingdom of central India.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>At its zenith<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> they <\/span><b>ruled a vast kingdom <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stretching from the River <\/span><b>Tungabhadra to the River Narmada,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including <\/span><b>modern Maharashtra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>north of Karnataka<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>parts of Madhya Pradesh.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Originally <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a <\/span><b>feudatory of the Eastern Chalukyas of Kalyani<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the dynasty <\/span><b>became paramount <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the Deccan <\/span><b>under Bhillama <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(c. 1187\u201391), who <\/span><b>founded Devagiri (later Daulatabad) as his capital.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Under Bhillama\u2019s grandson Singhana<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (reigned c. 1210\u201347), the<\/span><b> dynasty declared independence<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>reached its height, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as the Yadava <\/span><b>campaigned against the Hoysalas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the south, the <\/span><b>Kakatiyas <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the east, and the <\/span><b>Paramaras <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Chalukyas <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the north.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Later rulers continued expansionist wars with varying success.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the reign of the <\/span><b>last Yadava king, Ramachandra<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (reigned <\/span><b>1271\u2013c. 1309<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), a Muslim army commanded by the<\/span><b> Delhi sultan Alauddin Khilji invaded<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the kingdom in <\/span><b>1294 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>imposed tributary status.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A later attempt to throw off the vassalage brought another Delhi army; Ramachandra was imprisoned but was later released and remained loyal to Delhi until his death.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a further attempt, his son and successor died in battle, and the <\/span><b>kingdom <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was <\/span><b>annexed by the Khalj\u012b empire in 1317.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>foundations of Marathi culture<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were <\/span><b>laid by the Yadavas,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the peculiarities of Maharashtra&#8217;s social life developed during their rule.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Hemadpanti architectural style (stone masonry without mortar) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is associated with this period.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/organiser.org\/2026\/02\/28\/341575\/bharat\/yadava-era-mandir-pillar-remains-discovered-along-vena-river-in-hinganghat-highlighting-regions-medieval-heritage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ORG<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Yadava Dynasty, also known as the Seuna Dynasty, were rulers of a 12th\u201314th-century Hindu kingdom of central India.
