{"id":9072,"date":"2022-10-27T05:41:05","date_gmt":"2022-10-27T00:11:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=9072"},"modified":"2025-03-29T11:05:21","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T05:35:21","slug":"the-navigation-with-indian-constellation-navic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/the-navigation-with-indian-constellation-navic\/","title":{"rendered":"The Navigation with Indian Constellation (NaVIC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Navigation with Indian Constellation (NaVIC):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>NaVIC or the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) uses\u00a0<strong>seven satellites<\/strong>\u00a0to provide real-time positioning and timing services in India and an area\u00a0<strong>extending up to 1,500 km from the country&#8217;s borders.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Of the seven satellites used by NaVIC at present,\u00a0<strong>three are in the geostationary orbit and four in the geosynchronous orbit.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Its use is currently restricted and is now utilised for tracking and delivering information about natural disasters, providing emergency warning alerts to fishermen travelling into the deep sea, and monitoring public traffic in India.<\/li>\n<li>Currently, NavIC is\u00a0<strong>only compatible with the L5 and S bands<\/strong>\u00a0and hasn\u2019t easily penetrated into the civilian sector.
