It guides the State to promote cooperative societies and ensure that they function in a democratic and efficient manner. This article encourages people to work together through cooperative groups for their economic and social development. Though it is not legally enforceable, it acts as an important guideline for the government while making policies related to cooperative institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Article 43B of Indian Constitution<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Promotion of co-operative societies<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The State shall endeavour to promote voluntary formation, autonomous functioning, democratic control and professional management of co-operative societies.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Article 43B of Indian Constitution Insertion<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Article 43B<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was added to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/indian-constitution\/\" target=\"_blank\">Indian Constitution<\/a><\/strong> by the<\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/97th-constitutional-amendment-act\/\" target=\"_blank\"> 97th Constitutional Amendment Act, 2011<\/a>.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This amendment aimed to strengthen and promote the cooperative movement in India. It gave constitutional recognition to cooperative societies and emphasized their importance in economic and social development.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Article 43B<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was placed under the <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/directive-principles-of-state-policy-dpsp\/\" target=\"_blank\">Directive Principles of State Policy<\/a> (Part IV).<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It directs the State to promote voluntary formation, autonomous functioning, democratic control and professional management of cooperative societies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Along with inserting <\/span><b>Article 43B<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the amendment <\/span><b>also introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/part-9b-of-indian-constitution\/\" target=\"_blank\">Part 9B in the Constitution<\/a>,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which contains provisions related to the structure, election and functioning of cooperative societies.
