{"id":9182,"date":"2023-04-19T07:34:01","date_gmt":"2023-04-19T02:04:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=9182"},"modified":"2025-03-29T11:45:15","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T06:15:15","slug":"what-is-teleos-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-teleos-2\/","title":{"rendered":"What is TeLEOS-2?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About TeLEOS-2:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What is it? <\/strong>It is a <strong>Singaporean Earth Observation satellite <\/strong>built by ST Electronics (Satellite Systems).<\/li>\n<li>It is designed to <strong>capture satellite imagery in all-weather <\/strong>and round-the-clock conditions.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>750 kg satellite <\/strong>will <strong>be launched into a Low Earth Orbit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It carries <\/strong>a <strong>made-in-Singapore Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR<\/strong>) capable of providing <strong>1 m resolution data.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It will be equipped with a <strong>500 GB onboard recorder <\/strong>for recording the data captured and a <strong>high-speed 800 Mbps downlink.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Applications: It will provide high-resolution imagery for various applications such as <strong>disaster management, resource monitoring, and environmental monitoring<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What is the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an <strong>indigenously-developed expendable launch system of the ISRO.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It <strong>comes in the category of medium-lift launchers <\/strong>with a reach up to <strong>various orbits<\/strong>, including the Geo Synchronous Transfer Orbit, Lower Earth Orbit, and Polar Sun Synchronous Orbit.<\/li>\n<li>It has a <strong>four-stage system comprising a combination of solid and liquid-fuelled rocket stages.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is the <strong>first Indian launch vehicle to be equipped with liquid stages<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It is <strong>capable of placing multiple payloads into orbit<\/strong>.
