{"id":91922,"date":"2026-03-10T15:04:01","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T09:34:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=91922"},"modified":"2026-03-11T15:33:32","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T10:03:32","slug":"exercise-lamitiye","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/exercise-lamitiye\/","title":{"rendered":"Exercise LAMITIYE"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Exercise LAMITIYE Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indian Armed Forces contingent is participating in the eleventh edition of joint military Exercise \u201cLAMITIYE-2026\u201d with Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF) in Seychelles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Exercise LAMITIYE<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the <\/span><b>joint military exercise<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> conducted between<\/span><b> India and Seychelles.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018<\/span><b>LAMITIYE\u2019 means \u2018Friendship\u2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the Creole language.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>biennial <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">training event and has been conducted in <\/span><b>Seychelles since 2001.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Participating Troop:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The contingent comprises personnel from the <\/span><b>ASSAM Regiment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and participation from <\/span><b>Indian Navy and Indian Air Force<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> including <\/span><b>INS Trikand and a C-130 aircraft.<\/b><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Exercise LAMITIYE 2026<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This edition marks a significant <\/span><b>milestone with the participation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of <\/span><b>all three services<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the Indian Armed Forces.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The exercise will strive to enhance synergy in the domains of <\/span><b>Sub-conventional Operations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in <\/span><b>Semi-Urban environment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and cooperation and interoperability between both the sides during Peace Keeping Operations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both sides will jointly train, plan and execute a series of tactical drills for neutralisation of likely threats that may be encountered in a Semi-Urban environment, while exploiting and showcasing <\/span><b>New Generation Equipment and technology.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will include <\/span><b>Field Training Exercises, combat discussions,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> case studies, lectures &amp; demonstrations, culminating with Validation Exercise.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2236791&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Exercise LAMITIYE is the joint military exercise conducted between India and Seychelles.
