{"id":93857,"date":"2026-10-03T12:04:59","date_gmt":"2026-10-03T06:34:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=93857"},"modified":"2026-10-03T15:06:49","modified_gmt":"2026-10-03T09:36:49","slug":"relief-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/relief-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"RELIEF Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>RELIEF Scheme\u00a0 Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the government has extended the operational timelines of a key component of its RELIEF scheme to provide greater insurance protection to Indian exporters facing elevated freight, insurance and war-related risks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About RELIEF Scheme <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>RELIEF (Resilience &amp; Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> scheme was launched by the <\/span><b>Ministry of Commerce &amp; Industry.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a time-bound and targeted measure aimed at <\/span><b>mitigating the impact of rising logistics costs,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> higher insurance premiums, and war-related risks affecting export consignments moving to or through the Gulf region.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was launched under the <\/span><b>E<a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/export-promotion-mission-epm-strengthening-indias-export-competitiveness\/\" target=\"_blank\">xport Promotion Mission (EPM).<\/a><\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme comprises <\/span><b>three key components<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Enhanced insurance coverage:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Exporters with existing ECGC insurance <\/span><b>will receive up to 100% risk coverage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for eligible consignments shipped between February 14 and March 15, 2026, without additional cost.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Support for upcoming shipments:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Exporters planning shipments between March 16 and June 15, 2026, can avail up to <\/span><b>95% risk coverage with government support<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, helping sustain trade flows.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Relief for MSMEs:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Small exporters without ECGC cover during the disruption period will be eligible for <\/span><b>partial reimbursement of up to 50%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of increased freight and insurance costs, subject to a <\/span><b>ceiling of \u20b950 lakh per exporter.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Geographical Coverage:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The scheme will cover shipments destined for countries including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Iran, Israel and Yemen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Implementing Agency:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The <\/span><b>Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been designated as the nodal implementing agency responsible for verification, claim processing, disbursement, and monitoring.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleaseDetail.aspx?PRID=2318053&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The RELIEF Scheme  was launched by the Ministry of Commerce &#038; Industry.
