{"id":9468,"date":"2022-10-06T05:29:46","date_gmt":"2022-10-05T23:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=9468"},"modified":"2025-03-29T13:30:04","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T08:00:04","slug":"us-india-strategic-clean-energy-partnership-usiscep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/us-india-strategic-clean-energy-partnership-usiscep\/","title":{"rendered":"US-India Strategic Clean Energy Partnership (USISCEP)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The revamped USISCEP was launched in accordance with U.S.-India Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 Partnership announced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden at the Leaders\u2019 Summit on Climate held in April 2021.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Features<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The SCEP organizes inter-governmental engagement across\u00a0<strong>five pillars of cooperation:<\/strong>\u00a0(1) Power and Energy Efficiency; (2); Responsible Oil and Gas; (3) Renewable Energy; (4) Sustainable Growth and (5) Emerging Fuels.<\/li>\n<li><strong>India-US Task Force on Biofuels:\u00a0<\/strong>A new India-US Task Force on Biofuels was also announced to build on the scope of work on cooperation in biofuels sector.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Renewable Energy:\u00a0<\/strong>Strengthen the electric grid in India to support large-scale integration of renewables, including through smart grids, energy storage, flexible resources etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gas Task Force:<\/strong>\u00a0Rechristening of Gas Task Force to India-US Low Emissions Gas Task Force, which would continue to forge collaboration between U.S. and Indian companies on innovative projects to support India\u2019s vision of\u00a0<strong>gas-based economy.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>India Energy Modeling Forum<\/strong>: Institutionalization of\u00a0<strong>India Energy Modeling Forum<\/strong>\u00a0with the constitution of Six Task Forces for carrying out research and modelling in different areas.
