{"id":94755,"date":"2026-03-25T13:20:56","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T07:50:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=94755"},"modified":"2026-03-25T13:20:56","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T07:50:56","slug":"districts-as-export-hubs-deh-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/districts-as-export-hubs-deh-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"Districts as Export Hubs (DEH) Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Districts as Export Hubs (DEH) Initiative Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Minister of State for Ministry of Commerce &amp; Industry informed the Lok Sabha about the Districts as Export Hubs (DEH) Initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Districts as Export Hubs (DEH) Initiative<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>launched in August 2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to foster balanced regional development across all districts of the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The objective of DEH is to <\/span><b>identify, brand, and promote products<\/b> <b>from each district,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> encouraging their sale in both domestic and international markets.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an initiative of the <\/span><b>Directorate General of Foreign Trade,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Department of Commerce.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this initiative, the <\/span><b>export promotion activities are being decentralised<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to make the districts active stakeholders in boosting export growth of the identified products and services from the districts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Institutional mechanism<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An institutional mechanism has been set up in all States\/UTs by forming the <\/span><b>State Export Promotion Committee <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(SEPC) and <\/span><b>District Export Promotion Committee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DEPC) at the district level.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative has <\/span><b>identified export potential in 734 districts across<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the country, spanning critical sectors like agriculture, toys, and GI products.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"3\"><b>District Export Action Plans (DEAP)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> detailing the existing bottlenecks in the supply chain and identifying possible interventions to mitigate the existing gaps for export of the above identified products.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is supporting <\/span><b>local exporters\/manufacturers to scale and find potential buyers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> outside India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Coverage:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The DEH initiative has <\/span><b>identified products and services with export potential<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in all districts across the country, including <\/span><b>GI products, agricultural clusters, and toy clusters.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2244401&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1#:~:text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Districts as Export Hubs (DEH) Initiative was launched in August 2019 to foster balanced regional development across all districts of the country.
