{"id":94755,"date":"2026-09-03T13:20:56","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T07:50:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=94755"},"modified":"2026-09-04T14:55:48","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T09:25:48","slug":"districts-as-export-hubs-deh-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/districts-as-export-hubs-deh-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"Districts as Export Hubs Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Districts as Export Hubs Initiative Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Districts as Export Hubs initiative marks a shift in India&#8217;s export strategy from concentrating growth in a few industrial centres to unlocking the potential of every district.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Districts as Export Hubs Initiative<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is aimed <\/span><b>at identifying products and services<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with global potential and connecting local producers with international markets.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an initiative of the <\/span><b>Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Department of Commerce.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this initiative, the <\/span><b>export promotion activities are being decentralised<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to make the districts active stakeholders in boosting export growth of the identified products and services from the districts.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Institutional Architecture for Districts as Export Hubs Initiative<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DEH runs on a <\/span><b>layered system of<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> coordination between the <\/span><b>Centre, States and districts.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Department of Commerce<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> provides overall policy direction, while the DGFT anchors implementation, facilitates stakeholder coordination and monitors progress.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the State level, <\/span><b>State Export Promotion Committees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SEPCs) guide implementation and ensure convergence across departments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the <\/span><b>district level, District Export Promotion Committees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DEPCs), identify export opportunities, resolve local challenges and coordinate with industry, exporters and other stakeholders.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A key responsibility of the <\/span><b>DEPCs is preparing District Export Action Plans<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DEAPs).
