{"id":9484,"date":"2025-12-26T14:00:01","date_gmt":"2025-12-26T08:30:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=9484"},"modified":"2025-12-26T14:22:26","modified_gmt":"2025-12-26T08:52:26","slug":"quality-council-of-india-qci","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/quality-council-of-india-qci\/","title":{"rendered":"Quality Council of India (QCI)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Quality Council of India Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Quality Council of India (QCI) recently announced a comprehensive set of next-generation quality reforms aimed at strengthening India\u2019s quality ecosystem across healthcare, laboratories, MSMEs, and manufacturing sectors.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Quality Council of India\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>non-profit autonomous organisation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>set up in 1997 jointly <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by the <\/span><b>Government of India and the Indian Industry, represented by<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>three premier industry associations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, i.e.,\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (<\/span><b>ASSOCHAM<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is<\/span><b> under the administrative control<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the <\/span><b>Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Functions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It works as the <\/span><b>national accreditation body.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been established to create a mechanism for <\/span><b>independent third-party assessment of products, services, and processes.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also <\/span><b>promotes the adoption of quality standards<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> relating to Quality Management Systems, Food Safety Management Systems, and Product Certification and Inspection Bodies <\/span><b>through the accreditation services provided by the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB).\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It plays a pivotal role at the national level in propagating, adoption, and adherence to quality standards in all important spheres of activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>leads <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a nationwide quality movement in the country through the N<\/span><b>ational Quality Campaign.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Boards\/divisions under QCI:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National Accreditation Board for Testing &amp; Calibration Laboratories (NABL)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National Accreditation Board for Hospitals &amp; Healthcare Providers (NABH)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National Accreditation Board for Education &amp;
