Squadrons, dedicated drone sub-units embedded within armoured regiments.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Shaurya Squadrons<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shaurya Squadrons are <\/span><b>dedicated drone sub-units <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">being inducted into the <\/span><b>Indian Army\u2019s armoured regiments.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They <\/span><b>give tank commanders real-time surveillance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>precision-strike capability at the unit level.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Each squadron<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> comprises <\/span><b>20 to 30 personnel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> trained in drone and counter-drone operations.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They <\/span><b>operate <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a mix of <\/span><b>surveillance drones, attack drones, swarm drones, first-person view (FPV) drones, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>loitering munitions.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>FPV drones<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can strike enemy armour and logistics nodes, <\/span><b>allowing commanders to act without routing requests<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> up the chain of command.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>aim <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is to<\/span><b> compress the sensor-to-shooter cycle <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>push drone capability down to the unit level <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for<\/span><b> faster targeting and engagement.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>sensor-to-shooter cycle <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">refers to the <\/span><b>time between detecting a target<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>destroying it, which<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the problem Shaurya Squadrons directly address.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Army intends to compress this gap from minutes to seconds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Five Army commands have already inducted these units, with plans to equip all 67 armoured regiments to ensure each has a dedicated drone wing.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Shaurya Squadron <\/span><b>draws from <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><b>Army\u2019s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> prior deployment of <\/span><b>Ashni Platoons within infantry battalions.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ashni units are also <\/span><b>25 to 30 personnel strong<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and carry the <\/span><b>same blend of surveillance drones, attack drones,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and loitering munitions, and are now an
