Navy is set to commission the Malvan Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Malvan- Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the second of the <\/span><b>Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ASW-SWC).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been indigenously designed and constructed by <\/span><b>Cochin Shipyard Limited.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>draws its name<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the historic coastal town of <\/span><b>Malwan in Maharashtra,<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ship also encapsulates the legacy of the erstwhile INS Malwan, an Indian Naval Minesweeper which remained in service till 2003.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Features of Malwan \u2013 Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Capacity:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It has displacing capacity of <\/span><b>1,100 tons.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Propulsion:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is Waterjets propelled ASW SWCs<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Armaments:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is equipped with torpedoes, multifunctional anti-submarine rockets, and state-of-the-art sensors including advanced radars and sonar systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ship is equipped for <\/span><b>underwater surveillance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <strong>Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW)<\/strong> operations in coastal waters, <\/span><b>Low Intensity Maritime Operations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (LIMO) along with mine warfare capabilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has over <\/span><b>80% indigenous content<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and marks a milestone in indigenous warship construction and reaffirms the Government of India\u2019s vision of \u2018<strong><a
