It plays an important role in moving air and heat across the middle latitudes. It shows a general pattern of circulation, but is disturbed by cyclones and anticyclones, helping to balance temperatures between warmer and colder areas. Although it is not as strong as other wind cells, the Ferrel Cell is important for shaping weather patterns in many parts of the world.

About Ferrel Cell

The Ferrel Cell is one of the three main wind circulation systems of the Earth.
