{"id":96838,"date":"2026-04-06T15:29:51","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T09:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=96838"},"modified":"2026-04-06T15:29:51","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T09:59:51","slug":"bionest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/bionest\/","title":{"rendered":"BioNEST"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>BioNEST Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Union Minister inaugurated the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC)-BioNEST Incubation Centre at the Central Food Technology &amp; Research Institute (CFTRI) in Mysuru.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About BioNEST<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Bioincubators Nurturing Entrepreneurship for Scaling Technologies (Bio-NEST)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was launched by <\/span><b>Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was launched with a vision that focused on <\/span><b>fostering the biotech innovation ecosystem in the country.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The BioNEST Incubators provide access to <\/span><b>high end infrastructure, specialized and advanced equipment,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> business mentorship, IP, legal and regulatory guidance and networking opportunities to start-ups.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main objectives of the BioNEST scheme are to promote and establish Bioincubators in India which will:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Support and encourage startups<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and entrepreneurs in the biotech sector<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Connect Industry and Academia and<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> enable interactions for efficient exchange of knowledge as well as facilitate technical and business mentorship.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Provide enabling services<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and required mentorship for <\/span><b>IP and Technology management<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, legal support, certifications, validation, regulatory requirements, resource mobilization and a unique networking platform.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Funding:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The BIRAC funding for the BIRAC BioNEST Centres will be done in alignment with the Government\u2019s umbrella scheme <\/span><b>\u2018Biotechnology Research Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development\u2019 (Bio-RIDE).<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ddnews.gov.in\/en\/jitendra-singh-inaugurates-bionest-at-cftri-mysuru-to-boost-food-startups\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">DD News<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BioNEST  was launched by the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council.
