{"id":9710,"date":"2026-06-24T12:19:23","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T06:49:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=9710"},"modified":"2026-06-24T12:37:55","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T07:07:55","slug":"pradhan-mantri-rashtriya-bal-puraskar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pradhan-mantri-rashtriya-bal-puraskar\/","title":{"rendered":"Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ministry of Women and Child Development has invited nominations for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2026.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the nation&#8217;s <\/span><b>highest civilian honour for children<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>presented annually<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by the <\/span><b>President of India <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/veer-baal-diwas\/\" target=\"_blank\">Veer Bal Diwas<\/a>.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Veer Bal Diwas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is <\/span><b>observed annually on December 26<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in memory of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It recognises exceptional achievements in <\/span><b>six distinct categories namely:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Bravery, Social Service, Environment, Sports, Art and Culture, Science and Technology.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Selection Committee:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The <\/span><b>awardees are selected by a committee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> constituted by the <\/span><b>Union Minister for Women and Child Development<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and headed by the Secretary of the Ministry.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Eligibility for Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Citizenship:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A child should be an Indian Citizen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Age:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A child <\/span><b>above the age of 5 years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>not exceeding 18 years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (as of 31st July of respective year).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The act\/incident\/achievement should have been <\/span><b>within 2 years of the last date of receipt<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of application\/nomination for the year of consideration.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>number of awards will be 25<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, however, any relaxation to this maximum number may be permitted at the discretion of the National Selection Committee.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A child may be nominated in more than one category, although the committee reserves the right to consider only one application.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any <\/span><b>individual or institution can nominate<\/b> <b>a child.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Children <\/span><b>may also apply through self-nomination<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recommendations are also invited from certain government entities and offices.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each awardee is given a medal, a cash prize of <\/span><b>Rs. 1 Lakh and certificate.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ddindia.co.in\/2026\/06\/pradhan-mantri-rashtriya-bal-puraskar-2026-nominations-open-till-july-31\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">DD News<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar  is a prestigious national honour conferred annually by the Government of India.
