Later in the summer, the face and throat become brick-red.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Habitat:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Its habitat ranges from <\/span><b>moist sites<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with lots of vegetation to well-drained clay or gravel slopes, to the <\/span><b>tops of stony ridges.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can also be found on tidal sand flats, mud flats, and the shores of lakes and rivers.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Distribution: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is mainly found in<\/span><b> North America, Europe, Asia, South America, Africa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>Oceania.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Migration:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> These are <\/span><b>complete migrants<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and travel between 3,000 to 10,000 km from their breeding grounds to their wintering sites.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Diet:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Sanderlings are <\/span><b>carnivores (<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mollusciovres, insectivores).
