{"id":9791,"date":"2022-10-14T10:46:49","date_gmt":"2022-10-14T05:16:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=9791"},"modified":"2026-10-18T15:43:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-18T10:13:10","slug":"conference-on-interaction-and-confidence-building-measures-in-asia-cica","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/conference-on-interaction-and-confidence-building-measures-in-asia-cica\/","title":{"rendered":"Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) was held in Baku, Azerbaijan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a forum aimed at <\/span><b>enhancing cooperation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through elaborating multilateral approaches towards promoting peace, <\/span><b>security and stability in Asia.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Background:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> CICA was established at the <\/span><b>initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbaev<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Kazakhstan outlined at the 47th UNGA in 1992.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Almaty Act,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> serving as the charter of CICA, was adopted at the First CICA Summit Meeting in Almaty, Kazakhstan.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Secretariat:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Almaty (Kazakhstan)<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Governance<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The highest decision making organ of CICA is the Council of the <\/span><b>CICA Heads of State or Government (Summit).<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The CICA Summit is <\/span><b>convened every four years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in order to conduct consultations, review the progress of, and set priorities for CICA activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Ministerial Council) is the central forum for consultations and examination of all issues related to CICA activities.
